October 29, 2018 | sack
Located within Golden Gate Park, Strawberry Hill is a serene island named for the wild strawberries that once flourished on its flanks. Measuring close to 430 feet into the air and deemed the highest point in the entire park, you’ll find incredible views of scenic points like Mt. Tamalpais and the Golden Gate Bridge. While at Strawberry Hill, check out the Huntington Falls, the 110-foot tall waterfall that flows into Stow Lake. Pleasant walking paths decorate the island, with a few connecting bridges leading the way through lush woodlands and greenery. Visitors can also rent paddleboats and spend time cruising around Stow Lake.
Strawberry Hill is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco and just escape to a place with more peace and quiet. Strawberry Hill is very easy to access and offers plenty of parking.
