El Farolito isn’t a fancy place. In fact, many of its most loyal customers go so far as to call this little eatery a hole in the wall, but that aesthetic is exactly what makes El Farolito such a beloved local institution. Its focus is entirely on making tasty tacos, burritos, and quesadillas — no frills!  

There are about a dozen different items on the menu, but regulars note that the burritos (and especially the "super burritos") are what make this San Francisco restaurant stand apart from the rest. Order yourself a traditional bean and cheese burrito, or go for something with shrimp, chile relleno, and other special ingredients added to the mix. Regulars note that the prices are reasonable and the burritos are oversized, which make this a pretty popular stop among budget-conscious diners. Be aware, though, that this is a cash-only establishment, so it’s important to stop by the ATM before you arrive.
