Try the Famous Cioppino at Sotto Mare Oysteria & Seafood

Located in the heart of North Beach, Sotto Mare Oysteria & Seafood is a neighborhood staple with nautical decor and a menu of pasta, Boston clam chowder served in bread bowls, and other Italian-style seafood. Starters include crab, prawns, or bay shrimp cocktails, cracked crab, or a regular salad including a huge wedge of iceberg surrounded by tomatoes and topped with blue cheese. The eatery is well-loved for the cioppino, which comes in a big, stainless steel bowl brimming with clams, mussels, shrimp, tiny scallops, and loads of crab. The tasty sauce thickly coats all the seafood and the penne pasta at the bottom is perfect for sopping it all up.

Nearly every inch of wall space is taken up by historical pictures, with stuffed fish, lobsters, and other seafood paraphernalia decorating the restaurant. The charming interior also includes a row of mismatched chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and a classic white hexagonal tile floor.
