The minds behind Arizmendi Bakery have spent more than four decades in the culinary arts business, opening their first culinary co-op the Cheeseboard about 40 years ago. It was such a hit that they went on to open an Oakland-based bakery, followed closely by this now-famous bakery in San Francisco.

Thousands of reviewers rave about the delicious bread, pastries, and pizzas that come from the kitchen at Arizmendi Bakery. The bakers churn out signature loaves of bread on a daily basis, from sourdough to crispy baguettes. However, each day brings a different lineup of special loaves, in addition, like Irish soda bread on Tuesdays and fresh challah on Fridays. You can also swing by to grab a slice of pizza. The offerings change on a daily basis, but you’ll always find pies loaded with artisan meats and seasonal, organic veggies.
