Pair House-Made Granola With Strong Coffee at Native Twins Coffee

May 17, 2019 | sack

There are hundreds of places to get a coffee in San Francisco, but locals love Native Twins Coffee in the Lower Haight more than most. Identical twin sisters Jen and Ashley Rubin opened their Mill Valley-based granola business first, with the principle of focusing on doing just a handful of things extraordinarily well. When they decided to take over the spot on Divisadero Street once occupied by Repose Coffee, they brought that same spirit to running a cafe.

Native Twins doesn’t overwhelm you with options — instead, the kitchen keeps it simple with coffee, tea, granola, and toast. That’s it. The cafe doesn’t even have a website! By keeping things operation-focused, Native Twins is able to emphasize the quality of every menu item. Yelpers praise the matcha lattes, pour-over coffee, and the pesto-tomato toast. The space itself is cozy and modest, though comfortable enough for a study session or casual date.
