The Manassas Park Community Center’s Annual Egg Hunt Returns April 8!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 8! That's when our community's annual Easter Egg Hunt will return to the Manassas Park Community Center. For only $5 per child, kiddos can enjoy some springtime fun while making lifelong memories in the process.

There will be different age groups to ensure fairness throughout the morning. The littlest egg hunters, ages 0-1, will start the day at 10 a.m. followed by ages 2-3, ages 4-5, ages 6-7, and the adaptive age group every half hour on the dot. Save all your time for fun by pre-registering, which you can do online or at the community center. Be sure to grab a special photo with the Easter bunny that you’ll cherish (or use for a good laugh) for years to come.

A New Restaurant to Try This Weekend in Manassas: Taiwan Cafe

The brand-new Taiwan Cafe has been taking diners by storm with glowing reviews during their first few months in business. The restaurant boasts two distinctive menus: one Taiwanese and one Chinese. Two dishes that seem to be early favorites are the three-cup chicken, which combines flavorful sesame and ginger for a delightful sauce and the perfectly crispy Taiwanese fried chicken platter. If you’re looking for a dish to kick-off the meal, try the minced pork string bean with dry black beans served with bao buns on the side.

If you like to stick to what you know, the Chinese menu will take care of you. They offer all the staples you know and love, like spring rolls and general Tso’s chicken, and so much more. Spring Restaurant Week Returns to Manassas Next Week!

Historic Manassas Spring Restaurant Week is just around the corner! From March 19-25, local restaurants will be serving up all their decadent food paired with even sweeter deals. Participating restaurants will be offering two-for-$25 specials or three-for-$35 specials.

One highlight is the full three-course meal at Carmello’s where you can choose each course from a handful of options. Start with their special house salad with Brussels sprouts, followed by rich Pollo Piedmontese with Italian sausage and butter sauce, and finish with a traditional tiramisu. You definitely will not leave hungry. Philadelphia Tavern will do two cheesesteaks paired with a draft beer of your choice, Zandra’s is offering a three-course option adding in queso or guac and a dessert to their delicious fajitas, and so much more. This Spring, Plan a Visit to The Winery at Bull Run in Centreville

The weather is starting to get warmer, which has all the wine enthusiasts excited for the new season. If you haven’t been to The Winery at Bull Run in Centreville yet, pencil a trip in this spring for great local wines and scenery. With over 225 acres, the vineyard vistas span as far as the eye can see.

This winery produces an incredible variety of reds, whites, and fruit wines. You can choose from a couple tour and tasting options to experience these 100% Virginia wines for yourself. If you only have a bit of time, do the standard tasting, which is $18 per person for eight tastings (you’ll even leave with your very own logo glass). If you have some time to explore, opt for the historical tour and tasting for $35 per person. You’ll be led through the grounds of the beautiful estate and be given the inside scoop on all the history that has made this incredible vineyard what it is today.

Walk-in tours are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays until the season is in full swing with offerings seven days a week.

Play Some Mini-Golf This Weekend at Magic Putting Place

For a little friendly competition, check out The Magic Putting Place on Mathis Avenue. This recreation hub plays host to two 18-hole mini-golf courses where skills are put to the test with creative and challenging designs at each stop. From windmills to bridges, castles to waterfalls, the courses will keep you entertained for hours.

They aim to make the course accessible to all with low prices. If you come before 6 p.m. on weekdays, the rate is $4, and if you visit during the weekends before 6 p.m., the rate is $4.50. The rate goes up to $5 at 6 p.m. Want to add on extra holes? It’s only $2 for an additional 18 so you can play both courses.

Decades Rewind at the Hylton Performing Arts Center: A Musical Blast From the Past

Revisit your favorite hits at the Hylton Performing Arts Center during Decades Rewind. On Feb. 26, this truly one-of-a-kind band will take the stage and take you back in time as they play your favorites from the '60s, '70s, and '80s all in one 90-minute journey. The group is made up of an eight-piece band and six incredibly talented vocalists who each take the stage for their specialty genre. Not only do they play all your favorites, they add in costumes and theatrics that make it all seem more authentic than ever.

Enjoy American Festival Pops Orchestra’s Valentine’s Day Performance on Feb. 12

Whether you’re looking to spend the holiday weekend with your sweetheart, your family, or your friends, the American Festival Pops Orchestra: Valentine’s Day Pops is a perfect way to celebrate. The group will take the stage at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, which has quickly become one of their signature venues. The U-shaped hall ensures perfect acoustics throughout the venue, meaning that there really isn’t a bad seat in the house.

The theme is, of course, love. The group will move patrons through the sweet melodies of classic love songs from movies and more, ensuring some familiar tunes and some new ones as well. The concert starts at 3 p.m., so you have plenty of time for a romantic dinner after the curtains close.
