Tired of the Same Old Gym Routine? Break a Sweat at Vertical Rock Indoor Climbing Center!

April 8, 2016 2:01 pm

Looking for a new, exciting way to break a sweat—outside the gym? Manassas's Vertical Rock Climbing and Fitness Center is the best place to conquer a fear, get a fix for adrenaline, or simply enjoy an out-of-the-ordinary workout.

Open climbs are a great way to get in a workout or introduce a date to climbing. The rate for open climbs runs $20 for 3 climbs and additional $5 for each climb after. Pay another $7 to play around on the bouldering walls where no harness is required. If you're just getting started, know that Vertical Rock takes safety very seriously. The "learn the ropes" class will take you through the basics and put you up on a wall fit for you. More experienced climbers will go through a belay test before conquering the tougher courses.

Vertical Rock is kid friendly and makes for a great birthday party. Call to set it up and an instructor will be there to help your little one and their friends get vertical!

If you're from the Philadelphia area and looking for a taste of home—literally—in Manassas, you'll love The Philadelphia Tavern. This casual bar and grill is located just minutes from The Courts at Historic Manassas, and not only does it serve a menu of Philly-style fare, it even contains an antique, 1800s bar that was transported all the way from the City of Brotherly Love.

That's not to say you need to hail from Philly to this eatery's authentic cheesesteaks! What's more, Philadelphia Tavern's menu also includes fresh salads, hearty dinnertime entrees, and shareable appetizers, and the bar serves microbrews sourced from the Philadelphia area. Stop in to catch a Flyers or Eagles game on the many flatscreen televisions, or enjoy the sunny outdoor patio with friends on a warm afternoon!
