Each year, the Organización Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island (AKA the OLA) hosts the OLA Film Festival. The festival is designed to introduce both Spanish- and English-speaking audiences to films that are as poignant as they are entertaining. As part of this year's festival, the OLA is hosting a special screening of Neruda at the Parrish Art Museum, plus a tour and reception, on Friday, November 17th.

At 5:30 p.m., the evening begins with a guided tour of the Parrish Art Museum's exhibits, offered in both Spanish and English. From 6 to 7 p.m., enjoy a reception with light refreshments and drinks. Immediately afterword, Neruda will begin. It's a biographical depiction of Pablo Neruda's life as a Chilean senator and poet during the Cold War when he was forced to go into hiding due to his liberal views. After the film, stick around for a short by Long Island's own Miguel J. Solimon. The event is free with museum admission, which is $12.
