Come to the 5th Annual Gingerbread and Chocolate House Competition on December 9th
December 4, 2017 | greystar
It's the time of year when playing with your food isn't just accepted, it's encouraged—at least when it comes to building a festive gingerbread house. Amateurs frosters, pro bakers, and everyone in between is welcome to construct an edible masterpiece for the 5th Annual Gingerbread and Chocolate House Competition on Saturday, December 9th at the Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale Village.
This year, the theme is cathedrals. So if you choose to participate, design a building made out of chocolate or gingerbread that evokes a cathedral on Long Island—or nearby NYC, or any other city in the world. Other types of structures are welcome, too. The sweet creation could win you a 32-inch TV. If you'd rather serve as a spectator, come to the Chocolate Duck between noon and 4 p.m. to check out the houses, vote for your favorite, and enjoy some complimentary hot cocoa. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Long Island Cares while you're there. Admission is free.
