You won't even have to walk 400 feet from The Lofts at Mockingbird Station to savor a stunning sip of whiskey on the first Friday of the month. That's when Trinity Hall Irish Pub, located within a 30-second walk of your home, hosts its monthly whiskey tasting. The next one is Friday, Feb. 5, so make plans now to found up some friends to check it out.

Every month features a different whiskey, so visit Trinity Hall Irish Pub's website to see what's on tap next. Call ahead to reserve your spot (for $35), and you'll be ensured a seat at one of the pub's tables. Over the course of the evening, you'll nibble on palate-cleansing tapas and sip up to seven pours of whiskey, less than an ounce each, with the help of tasting notes left at each place setting. Take time to socialize with your fellow whiskey tasters, because they'll probably have some fresh ideas about each nip of whiskey.
