Houston Museum of Natural Science: From Dinosaurs to Mummies

At the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the history of the entire globe comes to life—with a special emphasis on your home state. Begin your educational adventure at one of the regionally inspired exhibits, such as the Farish Hall of Texas Wildlife. True to its name, this section of the museum features the flora and fauna of various "biotic provinces" around Texas. Nearby, the Hamman Hall of Texas Coastal Ecology teaches you more about the ecological balance along the Texas coastline, and the collection of Vintage Texas Wildlife Dioramas illustrate how locals have perceived their surroundings for the past few decades.

If you're more interested in learning about international natural history, head straight to the Morian Hall of Paleontology. It houses more than 450 fossils, and uses them to explain the prehistoric world. You can also check out the ancient writings and religious practices of the Egyptian people at the Hall of Ancient Egypt.
