Circle S Vineyards gives you a chance to see what a first class winery is all about – and it's right in the suburbs of Houston. Tours include their bottling department, plus you get a chance to taste their wines. You don’t have to take the tour to participate in a tasting. Just visit their tasting room, where you’ll also find a complete array of wine accessories, European crystal stemware and gift items for your special someone. Join their Vintner’s Reserve Barrel Program and you can receive bottles with your own personal label. Closed on Mondays.

No Label Brewing: Microbrewery in Katy

No Label Brewing is full of amazing beers. Stop by on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. for beer tastings of the latest brews. Admission is just $5 for four free drink tokens. Feel free to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Food vendors are usually available. Try microbrews like the Pale Horse, Ridgeback, 1st Street Ale, or seasonal brews like Black Wit-O and Jalapeno Ale. Bring your own chairs to sit on the grounds outside and take in the sunshine. A big tree provides some shade but you can also bring an umbrella or tent. Feel free to bring your dog and enjoy listening to some music. Remember to bring cash!

Oyster Creek Park: Relax!

Get some exercise and enjoy the sights at Oyster Creek Park. As part of the Sugar Land Department of Parks and Recreation, Oyster Creek Park has a three-mile path running through the entire facility. It is just manageable enough for a vigorous stroll, a morning jog or a quick bike ride. Along the trail, you’ll see things along the trail like the central fountain and wonderful greenery. You’re not that far from the hustle and bustle, but far enough away for a quiet experience. But that’s not all – the facility also features picnic benches and grills for you to have a nice cookout with friends or family. Make it a point to also check out the Liberty Rose Garden! The pavilion is also available to rent for private functions.

Houston Museum of Natural Science: A Place of Fun & Learning

Enjoy and learn about the beauty of the natural world at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Located in the Museum District directly across from the Mary Gibbs and Jesse H. Jones Reflecting Pool, the Museum of Natural Science is for kid, adults and families. The main goal of the museum is to educate everyone about the natural sciences, be it through the exhibits of dinosaurs in the Morian Hall of Paleontology, the beautiful specimens in the Cullen Hall of Gems and Minerals, or other amazing exhibits. Come to Energy Hall and learn about fossil fuels. Check out examples of African wildlife and go to the Farish Hall to learn even more about the wildlife of Texas. Houston Museum of Natural Science: A Learning Adventure

A visit to the Houston Museum of Natural Science is a great way to explore the fascinating world we inhabit. It’s a small museum with some great exhibits for adults and some hands-on ones for kids. The Life Science exhibit features a collection of live frogs, and includes the Giant African Bullfrog and Amazon Milk Frogs. It also contains a variety of animal skulls from around the world, including the duckbill platypus and killer whale. The Science of a Sphere exhibit investigates the surface of Mars and features a giant animated globe. The Discovery Works exhibition is specifically geared to kids, with interactive features that let them experience science in motion. The Digital Dome Theatre shows a different movie every half-hour on a giant domed screen. Not far from Marquis at Katy, the Houston Museum of Natural Science is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until 6 p.m.
