It may have a silly name, but there’s nothing silly about The Don’Key’s Mexican food. This family-owned Mexican eatery started in 1984, and since then it’s perfected its unique style of Tex-Mex through its almost famous fajitas. The menu also includes delicious dishes like pollo poblano, tortilla soup, enchiladas, and many others. There are also discounted lunch specials on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that will help you to break up the work day.

The Don’Key is colorful inside, but its dim lighting creates a fun and relaxing environment for a low-key dinner or for kicking back with a boozy Don’KeyRita. The dining room is filled with tables large enough for four, while the bar area has a few flatscreen televisions perfect for watching the big game.

A popular area chain restaurant, Gringo's Tex Mex has a location near Plaza at San Jacinto in La Porte that maintains the standard of serving well-regarded Mexican food in a pleasant atmosphere.
