October is here and what better way to bring in the month than to welcome it in with good fun, great entertainment and an eclectic mix of Houston Natives and residents of all sorts! Houston is the melting pot for culture and diversity, so it was natural for October to be full of several Multicultural events that include good cuisine, amazing music, and great fun. WHAT: 2014 Korean Festival

The Korean Festival (K-Fest) was created with the idea of uniting ther Korean Community while showcasiung Koren Culture to the Greater Houston Community. The 2014 K-Fest will provide a fair-like atmosphere for diverse groups and performers such as traditional Korean dancers, Korean folk musicians, TaeKwonDo masters, and Korean American musicians who will conduct demonstrations and exhibit their unique talents. Rodney Crowell; Grand Old Grizzly Opens. The Grammy Award Winning Houston Kid. Rodney Crowell cut his teeth in Houston before going on to record 5 Number 1 hits in the 1980's. In 2014 Crowell won his 2nd Grammy for his work with Emmylou Harris on the Old Yellow Moon and released another solo record, Tarpaper Sky. Blankets, lawn chairs and picnics are welcome; food, beer and wine are available at the Lake House Restaurant. No glass containers or outside alcoholic beverages, please. October, known over the world as the month to celebrate our love of all things beer, and what goes better with your favorite brew than spicy, saucy chicken wings? Join us for a friendly Wingtoberfest competition on Wednesday October 22nd to decide the city's best wings! Participating restaurants coming soon! The even will be held at OutLaw Dave's (6502 Washington Ave, Houston, Texas 77007) and only the first 200 people through the door will get to sample and vote, so get there early!
