- World War II Memorial in the Houston Heights | FREE – Pay your respects to Heights area soldiers who served in World War II at this patriotic memorial at Heights Boulevard and East 11th Street. All Day.
- Memorial Day Remembrance Events at George Ranch Historical Park –Explore Memorial Day’s roots as Decoration Day, including participating in a Decoration Day ceremony in the 1890s Davis Mansion. $10 adults; $9 ages 62 and up; $5 ages 5 to 15; free for ages 4 and under. 9am to 5pm.
- Shark! Exhibit at HMNS – Take a close look at the predator of the sea during the last weekend of this temporary exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. $25; limited discounted $12.50 tickets available. 9am to 5pm.
- Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Open Today – Get an extra day of viewing art at the MFAH. Typically closed on Mondays, the museum, shop, café, and Bayou Bend will all be opened on Memorial Day. $15; $10 seniors and military personnel; $7.50 students; free for members and children 12 and under. 10am to 5pm.
- Children’s Museum of Houston Open Today – Let the kids play at the Children’s Museum of Houston on Memorial Day. The Museum is usually closed, but will be open for the holiday. $10; $9 seniors and military personnel. 10am to 6pm.
- Nicky’s Week at RA Sushi – Dine out a RA Sushi during this week-long event and 100% of the proceeds from their Nicky’s Week menu will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Prices vary. 11am to midnight.
- Bum-ba Toning Class at Discovery Green | FREE – Tone your bum and body at this free fitness class led by personal trainer Oscar Sajche at Discovery Green. 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
- Game 4 of NBA Western Conference Finals: Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors at Toyota Center – Root for the Rockets as they fend off their Oakland rivals at Game 4 of the Western Conference Playoffs. You can still find first run tickets starting around $99, but you may find better seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale market. 8pm.
