Get down to the blue-eyed soul sound of The Nightowls in concert at The Continental Club

Get yourself to Mid Main for an electrifying concert when American Motown soul band The Nightowls bring their rowdy blend of classic soul and modern pop sounds to The Continental Club on Friday, September 9, 2016.

Based out of Austin, TX, the 10-piece soul spectacle has been building momentum both regionally and nationally since their formation in 2011 with their infectious live energy and catchy blue-eyed Motown sound taking Texas by storm.

Dance-happy fans will delight in the visual power of witnessing these ten performers on stage doing what they clearly love. The rhythm section locks into the groove like a train on a track, laying down a rhythmic foundation, horns blare, harmonies layer, and the smooth vocalists ice the cake with memorable melodies that you’re sure to be humming on the car ride home.

And with their live shows becoming noticeably more choreographed from their time spent on the road touring, this Mid Main concert appearance is especially not to be missed. Recently the band took that same new-found chemistry from the road straight to the studio to record their latest EP, Royal Sessions, which marks a new sound for the group and mentality of being more a family than a band. A mantra that can only sprout organically with time and no doubt depending on one another while far from home on the road.

About the Royal Sessions EP

Recorded at the famed Royal Studios (Al Green, John Mayer, Rod Stewart) in Memphis, TN, Royal Sessions finds the band transcending the “retro” tag that described their earlier releases in favor of a more unique and cohesive sound, with influences running the gamut from James Brown to Michael Jackson.

Bright, bold horns dance and leap over a funky rhythm section throughout the five tracks that make up the EP, while soulful lead vocals shimmer out alongside gorgeous female harmonies, resulting in a complex sound that is infectious in its effervescent energy.
