Young professional friends of Houston Zoo challenged to ditch plastic bags for a year
August 10, 2015 | greystar
What: Houston Zoo's cocktail party for Flock.
Where: The Houston Club on the 49th floor of One Shell Plaza.
The 411: More than 250 young professionals joined the party focusing on aiding in the effort to save ocean-dwelling animals. That meant taking the "Better Bag Challenge" — committing to abstaining from plastic bags for a year in order to help reduce plastic pollution in the oceans. Selling the concept were zoo staff from the aquarium and the conservation department who mingled with guests.
Saint Arnold Brewing Co. and Robert Mondavi provided the liquids that fueled the fun and the enthusiasm for the raffle, which included a painting by the Houston Zoo's resident artist octopus.
