Be the change at 1,000 Lights for Peace at Miller

Light a candle and close out Mahatma Gandhi Week with 1,000 Lights for Peace at Miller Outdoor Theatre on Sunday, October 4, 2015.

The grand finale to Mahatma Gandhi Week, 1,000 Lights for Peace, begins with a respective 5k Walk for Peace near the Gandhi statue in the Hermann Park Rose Garden and concludes with a free multi-cultural dance and music show by children at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

The finale and highlight of the evening will be a special candle-lighting ceremony in which all present will have the opportunity to pledge for peace in participating.

Once again the event is brought to you by the Mahatma Gandhi Library in collaboration with more than 75 other organizations to commemorate Gandhi’s birthday.

1,000 Lights for Peace 2015 at Miller Outdoor Theatre

  • Date: Sunday, October 4, 2015
  • Time: 6pm
  • Location: 6000 Hermann Park Dr., Houston, TX 77030
  • Parking: Street parking and Hermann Park parking is available in the surrounding area for free.
  • Admission: Free. Free tickets are required for the covered seating area and are available at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance from 10:30am to 1pm. The box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute any remaining tickets. Open seating on the hill is always free and first come, first serve.
