Learn About The Vegetarian Lifestyle at This Year’s DC VegFest

September 23, 2016 | greystar

On Saturday, a festival designed for vegetarians hits Yards Park. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., more than 20 vegetarian-friendly vendors will set up shop in the park peddling a range of delicious food and drinks, and you can try craft popsicles, kombucha, vegan cheese, veggie burgers, and more. The day-long festival is a favorite for area residents—and not just vegetarians, either. Many people visit this festival to sample the fare and to hear from the speakers too. At the festival, speakers will talk about the environmental benefits of being vegetarian, vegan diet, and more. A number of cooking demos will round out the day’s events.

Live music, yoga classes, and vegan-themed panels will also be offered at the event. Entry to the festival is free, and certain activities, food, and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the day. Marbury Plaza is just over two miles from Yards Park, which makes this festival very accessible.
