Alexandria’s Festive Parade of Lighted Boats Returns on December 3rd
November 21, 2016 | greystar
On Saturday, December 3rd, a favorite Alexandria holiday activity returns: the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights. Annually, this festive event draws thousands of people along the waterfront in DC and in Alexandria as the crowds watch more than 50 beautifully decorated boats make their way down the Potomac. Guests can expect powerboats, sailboats, and even a fireboat bedecked with holiday lights and decor—and some even play festive music. The best-decorated boats will win the grand prize in one of a number of categories, including “best in show” and “most out of the box.”
The Parade of Lights starts at about 4:15 p.m., and starting at 5:30 p.m., the more than 50 boats begin making their way down the river at the Alexandria waterfront. Don't miss this fun seasonal event!
