For more than 30 years, the Waterskiing Santa has entertained crowds in the DC region right around the holidays. And for the past few years, Alexandria residents have been lucky to have a front-row seat to the show. Now taking place in Old Town Alexandria for the third year in a row, Waterskiing Santa is a free, fun event that puts an unexpected twist on the typical visit with Santa.

Instead of sitting on Santa's lap, visitors can watch from the banks of the Potomac as he waterskiis across the waves behind a fleet of wakeboarding reindeer. Other holiday characters like the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, Jack Frost, and, of course, Santa's elves will join the jolly man himself at 1 p.m. on December 24th. It's the perfect way to kick off holiday celebrations, so don't miss this fun event!
