Gadsby's Tavern has hosted dinner meals for some pretty influential people, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams. But it's the lesser-known people who have shaped Alexandria's history that Centennial of the Everyday introduces you to. This special exhibit is currently showing at the historical tavern, and you can experience it at the Free Open House at Gadsby's Tavern Museum on Thursday, October 5th.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., admission is free. So dive into Centennial of the Everyday, an exhibit designed by locals Stewart Watson and Lauren Frances Adams. They wanted to lend a voice to those who played a role in Alexandria's history but never received the credit. As a result of their research, you can follow the stories of these different real-life characters at the free open house.
