Learn The Story of Pie at the Lee-Fendall House on November 18th
November 14, 2017 | greystar
The saying, "American as apple pie" isn't exactly historically accurate. Pies have been around since long before contemporary America existed. In fact, pie predates modern times altogether. Its roots stretch back thousands of years. Learn all about pie's early days at The Story of Pie at the Lee-Fendall House Museum on Saturday, November 18th.
From 2 to 4 p.m., history expert Debbie Waugh of Green Springs Garden will explain what the earliest pies looked like in medieval times, then describe the process that brought pie into the modern day. At the end of the class, enjoy some of the sweet treats that Debbie just highlighted in her talk at the pie and coffee reception. The event is free for members of the Lee-Fendall House Museum and $15 for non-members, pie and coffee included.
