When the clock strikes midnight on January 1, 2018, where will you be? Curled up on the couch at home? Tucked away in a dark bar? Or out in the streets of Alexandria, cheering with hundreds of other revelers as fireworks splash across the sky? Come to First Night Alexandria with your family or a group of friends to be front row and center when the fireworks take flight over the Potomac at midnight.

The full night of partying begins at 7 p.m. when more than 150 musical and theatrical performances begin to unfold at 20-plus venues scattered across the city. The bands play everything from classic Irish music and acoustic folk songs to R&B and funk, so you should be able to find a show that caters to your musical tastes. At 10 p.m., guests can congregate at the east end of King Street to dance their way to next year. Tickets are $30 for adults and free for children under the age of 12.
