Celebrate Irish Culture at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 3rd

February 19, 2018 | greystar

Bagpipers clad in traditional Irish kilts. Pooches decked out in emerald ensembles. Proud Irish-Americans bearing the orange, white, and green of their motherland. These are some of the sights that you can expect to see at the St. Patrick's Day Parade, which is coming to Old Town Alexandria on Saturday, March 3rd.

The fun begins before the grand marshals actually begin to roll down the parade route. At 10 a.m., vintage roadsters from around Alexandria will congregate along King Street so that you can examine them up close for a couple of hours. Then at 11 a.m., the costumed pups from around town will all converge at the Dog Show. Just make sure that you grab a good spot on the sidewalk by 12:30 p.m. so that you're ready for the parade to kick off.
