Usher in Warmer Weather at the 41st Annual Memorial Day Jazz Festival

May 22, 2018 | greystar

Now that warmer weather has returned, so have opportunities to enjoy live entertainment outdoors. The 41st Annual Memorial Day Jazz Festival is the prime example. The free concert returns to Waterfront Park this year on Monday, May 28th. It begins at 1 p.m. Grab a spot on the grass a bit before showtime, either with a blanket or lawn chairs, to enjoy the concert.

The U.S. Navy Band Commodores kick off the concert with a rousing round of big band music, followed by the sultry tones of Brazilian jazz band Encantada featuring Julie Mack. Next up, Project Natalie, and then the contemporary musical stylings of The Rick Whitehead Trio. Finally, The Village Jazz Band brings up the rear around 6 p.m. The show is free, so no need to bring along cash unless you want to buy some food on-site—you're also welcome to bring along your own picnic.
