Check Out 82 Working Artist Studios and 7 Galleries at the Torpedo Factory Art Center
July 25, 2017 | greystar
The Torpedo Factory Art Center draws a crowd of roughly 500,000 people over the course of a year. Considering the fact that it hosts the biggest number of working artist studios in a single building anywhere in the country, it's no wonder why. The former munitions plant has plenty of space for artists, and it was repurposed in 1974 to host them.
Be one of the half-million visitors this year and check out the 82 working artist studios housed within the building. Feel free to stop and chat with the creatives while they work. You can also explore seven distinct galleries, each featuring a colorful array of original works. In addition to the art spaces, the Torpedo Factory also plays host to The Alexandria Archaeology Museum, The Art League School, and EatsPlace Cafe and Marketplace, where you can grab a bite after your self-guided tour.
