When locals are bragging that your restaurant has the best falafel in the Bay Area, you know you’re doing something right. Bablou’s has been serving up incredible Mediterranean food for years now, and regulars rave about just about every dish on the impressive menu. The falafel is perfectly cooked, fresh and crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. Served on Lebanese lavash bread, it’s an incredibly delicious and affordable lunch choice. The rest of the menu is equally strong, with excellent dolmas and a succulent lamb shawarma drawing praise from regulars. One of the biggest draws of this place is the price – you can easily get lunch for two for under twenty bucks, which is a miracle in this day and age. The décor is fun and funky, with massive wall murals depicting an eclectic collection of historical and pop cultural figures, and service is great.
