Romantic Dining at Postino Restaurant

Flickering firelight dances across the exposed brick walls in the Library at Postino Restaurant. Whereas sunshine floods the Atrium, seeping through colorful cloth hangings and shedding some light on the open kitchen. In the Buca Room, vaulted ceilings and vintage light fixtures work together to create a soft glow and an airy atmosphere. Meanwhile, umbrellas on the Terazzo (or patio) blot out a bit of sunlight just over tables, but let the rest warm customers' shoulders.
With such distinct, picturesque dining areas such as these, it's no wonder Lafayette's Postino is widely considered one of the most romantic places in town. Even the eatery's exterior exudes a certain majesty thanks to the ivy that creeps up its exposed brick.
If customers can't see Italy in the setting, they'll certainly taste it in the food. Regulars recommend the short ribs, or "costata," which are braised and served with English peas, provolone polenta, onions, and veal reduction. The buratta appetizer also scores high marks; it's a medley of mozzarella, salumi, olives, tomato jam, olive oil, and aged balsamic, which you can pile atop crispy toast. Don't forget to order a glass of wine with your meal—Postino's collection is extensive.
