No matter how much sleep you get at night, there are some mornings when you just can’t seem to drag yourself out of bed. Those types of groggy days require a serious cup of coffee, and luckily there is a number of great places to get your caffeine fix in San Francisco. Here are two of the Bay Area’s favorite spots for great coffee.

Philz Coffee
Best known for its unique mint mojito iced coffee, Philz Coffee is a truly unique coffee shop in a world overrun with French presses and pour-overs. This spacious cafe has a pleasant, approachable atmosphere and a menu filled with creative espresso and coffee creations, though traditionalists will appreciate Philz's quality brewed coffee selection, as well. The interior is filled with a number of comfortable couches and tables for working on a laptop or chatting with friends, but skilled baristas will have you in and out in minutes if you prefer to take your java to-go.
Multiple locations throughout the Bay Area; see website for details

Dottie’s True Blue Café
Although it's very well-known for its hearty breakfasts, Dottie’s True Blue also makes a mean cup of coffee. The artistic Sixth Street café serves expertly crafted espresso drinks in tall mason jar mugs, and they also offer free refills on traditional coffee if you dine in.
28 Sixth St, San Francisco, CA 94103; (415) 885-2767
