Grab Your Friends, Your Kids or Your Dog and Hit the Lafayette-Moraga Trail

Lafayette-Moraga Trail is a 7.65-mile linear park perfect for bikers, hikers, and equestrians alike. Long ago, the trail was used by mule trains to carry redwood trees from Oakland to Sacramento, which is interesting to think about as you make your way around the trail today.
Regular visitors say there is always plenty of parking here, and they also remark that the trail is well-maintained. There is some shade along the way for runners and walkers, and there are a few water fountains along the way in case you feel parched. Dogs are even welcome along the trails as well as long as they are leashed and well behaved.
The park opens at 5 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
