Tacos El Patron operates on a pretty simple concept: serve the people lots and lots of tacos. This Pleasant Hill restaurant specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine, which includes plenty of citrus-flavored ceviche, alambre (grilled beef), and chorizo, but the focus here is really on tacos.

Order yours with the spicy birria filling, or go for the classic flavor of grilled carnitas. Whatever you order, you'll be able to choose whether you want your tacos to be served in corn or flour tortillas, all of which are made fresh, in-house, every single day (and don't forget to request some guacamole and salsa on the side). The restaurant itself has a pretty casual vibe: you place your order at the counter, grab your own drink out of the display case, and then take a seat wherever you'd like.
