Enjoy Authentic Deep-Dish Pies at Patxi’s Pizza

Nearly 15 years ago,  seasoned pizza chef Francisco “Patxi” Azpiroz joined forces with friend and entrepreneur Bill Freeman to debut the very first Patxi’s Pizza. It was a labor of love for the longtime pals, who both wanted to create a space where guests could enjoy quality deep-dish pizza and time with friends and family.

Now a West Coast chain of pizzerias, Patxi’s continues to do just that. Head to the location in Lafayette to try an artisan pie for yourself. Go for the classic meat pizza with fennel sausage and pepperoni layered in between gooey cheese and red sauce—which is actually on top, the cheese and toppings are down below. Try the vegan pizza on a whole-wheat crust with Daiya cheese. You can also skip the pizza entirely and opt for a piadine instead, which is akin to a thin-crust pizza folded in half, kind of like an overstuffed flatbread sandwich.
