Kacha Thai Bistro: Sensational Spice

November 27, 2012 | sack

Thai food is characterized by the interplay of four specific flavors – hot, sour, salty, and sweet. Typically the hot comes from thin red peppers, the sour from lime juice, the salty from fish sauce, and the sweet from palm sugar. In every bite, you should be able to detect all four in harmony. Walnut Creek’s Kacha Thai Bistro draws raves from educated palates who love the beautifully-seasoned dishes that the kitchen knocks out. Décor is lovely, with warm red wood tables lending the space an intimate and classy vibe. Service is also top-notch, with attentive staff and very little waiting, even when the place is crowded. Some of the menu’s best include the rich and flavorful curries, which are simmered for an incredibly long time to bring the meat to maximum tenderness, as well as the crispy cashew chicken. Noodles are also recommended, with the pad thai being singled out for extra praise.
