The Welcome Diner provides a gourmet diner experience that's hard to resist. The food here is of a very high quality, using Niman Ranch beef, Schreiners sausages, and locally sourced produce. The burgers are really delicious, and there are numerous variations featuring different delicious toppings. There's plenty of other food to enjoy here, however. The fried chicken sandwich is unbelievable, served with bacon and cheddar on a homemade biscuit. Also worth checking out is the delicious gnocchi, as well as numerous incredible desserts. The bar has beer and cocktails to pair with whatever you order. The staff is very friendly, happy to help with suggestions while making you feel right at home.

In 1986, three smaller ballet companies in Phoenix realized that they could not survive without combining their efforts, and through a Herculean effort they came together to form one of the most respected ballet companies in the United States. With a roster of thirty-six dancers under the direction of Ib Andersen, a former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, Ballet Arizona stages a variety of shows at the Orpheum Theatre and the Phoenix Symphony Hall. Their repertoire includes a wide range of pieces, from classics to newer works. The yearly production of The Nutcracker is a favorite. Before the show, turn up early for a pre-performance chat where you can ask questions of the dancers, musicians, and directors. They also run a very popular outreach program that brings dance to more than 35,000 children every year. The company is supported by a volunteer organization that helps them organize many of their activities.
