A Slice of New York: East Coast Cuisine

May 19, 2015 | sack

When owner Kirk Vartan moved from New York to San Jose, his longing for New York pizza soon became a dream to open a New York pizza joint and thus, A Slice of New York was born. Established in 2006, A Slice of New York serves 14- and 18-inch pizzas topped with such ingredients as salami, fresh mushrooms, and seasoned chicken breast. The restaurant also features garlic knots and made-to-order strombolis and calzones. The meatball parm sub sandwich is made with homemade dough and smothered in the restaurant’s own marinara sauce.

Make sure to save room for a dessert that may be difficult to find on the west coast. A Slice of New York gets shipments of Drake’s Cakes, an East Coast treat. The pizza joint also sells white or black t-shirts for fans of the restaurant.
