Elva’s Coffee Stop in San Jose gets its name from its founder, Elva Acevedo. She and her husband Frank opened Elva’s Coffee Stop in 2004, and built it into one of the area’s best-loved small businesses.

The family atmosphere extends to the legions of loyal customers who have patronized this coffee shop for years, buying double espressos and fresh pastries in the morning, noshing on chorizo burritos over the lunch hour, and picking up locally roasted beans by the pound to brew at home. This place also carries a selection of ice cream and smoothies to perk up your taste buds on days when you need a sweet treat. Though ownership of Elva’s Coffee Stop has turned over in the past year, social media reviews show long-time customers happily reporting that this place remains committed to the same sense of family and community that’s always characterized it.
