Happy Dog is a casual eatery serving hot dogs, sausages, and sandwiches in downtown San Jose. This hole-in-the-wall restaurant is a popular spot among locals, as well as a destination for out-of-towners.

Inside, the restaurant is modern and casual. You order at the counter and take your food to a table. There’s plenty of seating available both inside and outside on the patio. The menu includes a variety of different hot dogs and sausages with nearly every topping you can imagine, but menu favorites include the pineapple sausage, the mango chicken hotdog, and the banh mi. If hotdogs aren’t your thing, Happy Dog also has chili cheese fries, chicken strips, and a variety of sides. Tip: Happy Dog has student discounts, so be sure to bring your student ID with you!

Happy Dog is open Monday to Saturday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
