There’s so much to love about living in the Bay Area, but one thing that East Coast transplants may feel a little homesick for is New York-style pizza. Luckily for them, there’s A Slice of New York in West San Jose.
South Bay residents call it the only place to get a true New York-style slice, the kind with a crust thin enough to fold in half with one hand, but firm enough to create a crunch when you bite through the bottom. Just about everything at this place is made from scratch, in-house, on a daily basis, which means that the pizzas, stromboli, hoagies, garlic knots, and everything else are as fresh as can be. Regulars say that the cozy interior and friendly neighborhood atmosphere will make you feel like you’re right back in the five boroughs — you can even pick up some Drakes coffee cakes or Devil Dogs!
