There are plenty of Mexican restaurants and food trucks to enjoy in San Jose, but one that really stands out is Mavericks Mexican Grill. This tiny Meridian Avenue eatery is a fantastic place for more than just a normal taco, and is certainly worth your time.

Mavericks makes it a point to create dishes with flavors that are true to what you would find in Mexico. The menudo, with its pigs’ feet and beef tripe, has won the praise of some diners, while the tostadas and tacos have become a staple to others. Smothered burritos, fajitas, and flautas are just a few of the other delicious options you’ll find here, but the soups really stand out. The Siete Mares is an incredible seafood stew that is cooked to order with clams, mussels, octopus, prawns, crab, and fish. With its dedication to freshness and surprisingly deep menu, this Mexican restaurant is a must-try.
