La Foret is San Jose’s premier destination for authentic French cuisine. Using classic, labor-intensive cooking techniques, this cozy and elegant restaurant serves up some of the Almaden Valley’s most flavorful recipes.

The menu includes savory entrées such as the Prawns Meuniere, which is topped with butter, garlic, meyer lemon, and vin blanc. The Tournedos of Beef Chanterelle is a meat lover’s dream, consisting of mouthwatering tenderloin medallions served with golden chanterelle mushrooms in a ginger brandy sauce. Exotic dishes such as the Bison New York and the Elk are always a favorite, and vegetarian options like the Linguine Vegetarien and the Tortellini La Foret guarantee that herbivores will enjoy their visit just as much as their meat-eating counterparts.

A six course tasting menu is also offered at La Foret for guests who want to experience the full gamut of French tastes.
