Try Unique Sushi Styles at Sushi Arashi
January 22, 2018 | sack
Even though Sushi Arashi only opened its doors to the public two months ago, local customers already have a favorite appetizer: the Monkey Brain. Don't worry, it's not what it sounds like. This starter is just named for the way it looks — presumably, pretty similar to monkey brain — but it's actually a sliced-up roll of tempura-fried avocado, spicy tuna, and crab.
While you nosh on this unique fusion appetizer, browse the rest of Sushi Arashi's large and varied menu. True to the restaurant's name, sushi makes up much of the menu. It boasts a wide variety of classic sushi and sashimi, as well as simple maki rolls, but the deep-fried, baked, and specialty rolls really steal the spotlight. Order the popular dragon roll, which comes stuffed with shrimp tempura and crab, and crowned with eel, avocado, a drizzle of sauce, and tobiko. If you're interested in fully cooked fish, opt for the firecracker balls, which are actually pieces of a deep-fried tuna roll served with a spicy sauce.
