Cyclists of all aptitudes will gather at the 2016 Wheel and Sprocket Bike Expo Sale the second weekend in April, just as they have for more than three decades. That's because the expo is more than just a spread of bikes for sale. It also promises educational sessions about biking, chances to get to know other cyclists in your area, and much more.

If you are interested in investing in a new bike, bring your old one along and trade it in for a gift card. A company on-site will appraise the bike, then you can put its worth toward a brand new set of wheels. You can also check out one of the seminars that will be unfolding this year. They include sessions about biking basics, like how to fix a flat tire, as well as classes about the benefits of recumbent bikes.

This year's Wheel and Sprocket Bike Expo Sale takes place noon to 9 p.m. Friday, April 8; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 10.
