Did you make a New Year's resolution to get in better shape in 2017? Get off the treadmill and hit the ice instead! A welcome break from the boring gym routine, a visit to Pettit National Ice Center is the perfect way to break a sweat while having some fun at the same time! This indoor skating rink boasts 97,000 square feet of ice-skating surfaces, with two international-sized rinks. In fact, Pettit is home to "one of only 30 indoor 400-meter speed skating ovals in the world and the sixth oldest," according to the website.

The facility offers instruction in figure skating, speed skating, and ice hockey, as well as hockey and curling leagues. There's even an indoor, 443-meter run-walk track on site. If you'd rather visit for some leisurely skating, you can stop by during public skating sessions, including special sessions reserved for skaters aged 55 and up! View the calendar to see upcoming sessions.
