Celebrate the 4th of July at the Independence Day Bash at the Lakefront

July 1, 2017 | wimmer

Milwaukee's Independence Day Celebration at the Lakefront kicks off with a kite festival at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 3rd, starting the fun a full day early. Round up your clan and head to Veterans Park in the morning to pay homage to those who fought for your independence as beautiful kites flutter to the sky in their honor.

After the Kite Festival, take a trip to the playground or grab some lunch and enjoy the fresh air. Then come back to the lakefront at 5:30 p.m. when the U.S. Great Lakes Navy Band begins its concert. The band will perform a lineup of patriotic hits that you and the kids can sing along to while you picnic on the lawn. Stick around until about 9:30 p.m. That's when the 4th of July fireworks display paints a colorful portrait across the night sky.
