The French Revolution took a turn for the better on July 14th, 1789 with Storming of the Bastille (a Parisian prison). Milwaukee celebrates the French holiday—and stretches it out to last an entire weekend—at Bastille Days. From Thursday, July 13th to Sunday, July 16th, Cathedral Square Park hosts a huge party, which is free and open to the public.

The festival welcomes guests all day long with kid-friendly activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. About 250,000 guests are expected to flock to the park this year—just as they have for many years—to take part in the festivities. Bastille Days boasts a mix of live music and roaming entertainers, French and Cajun food and drink by local vendors and internationally renowned chefs and sommeliers, and much more. Don't forget to snap a picture in front of the 43-foot Eiffel Tower before heading home from Bastille Days!
