Mark Your Calendar for German Fest From July 28th to 30th

July 21, 2017 | wimmer

Every summer, Milwaukee welcomes German Fest to Henry Maier Festival Park. True to its name, the festival highlights the coolest parts of German culture, from the food to the music and dance. This year, German Fest is slated for July 28th through the 30th, so mark your calendars.

Depending on the day and your purchase method (online tickets are cheaper), admission starts as low as $3 for a single day or $21 for a three-day pass. You can even get in for free on Sunday between noon and 3 p.m. if you bring three non-perishable food items to the South Gate for the Hunger Task Force. Once inside, get exploring, because there's a lot to see. Watch lumberjacks compete in athletic contests that include chopping and sawing, known as the Stihl Timbersports Series, or watch pint-sized canines strut their stuff in the Daschund Derby. Learn the history of Milwaukee's German biermeisters, butchers, and bakers on a special walking tour, or watch while local German dance troupes show off their moves.
