Meet Fellow Cinephiles at Venues Around the City for the Milwaukee Film Festival

October 3, 2017 | wimmer

It might be hard to believe that the Milwaukee Film Festival has only been around for nine years, given the level of star power it attracts. Films starring Cate Blanchett, Michael Cera, and Judy Greer are all on the itinerary for this year's festival, which is taking place now through October 12th.

It will unfold at unique venues all across Milwaukee, from the VR Gallery to the Landmark Oriental Theatre. In fact, starting next summer, the Oriental Theatre will show films year-long that are curated by the folks at Milwaukee Film, who host the festival. For now, you can head to the Oriental Theatre and the other local cinemas to see documentaries, dramas, comedies, and everything in between during the two-week festival. The fest will also play host to special events that allow you to mingle with filmmakers, actors, and fellow cinephiles. Tickets to single screenings are $10 for members of the Milwaukee Film organization and $12 for non-members, whereas fest-long passes are $425 for members and $475 for non-members.
