The Grohmann Museum in East Town. The Milwaukee Institution of Art and Design in the Historic Third Ward. Great Lakes Distillery in Walker's Point. What do all of these seemingly diverse venues have in common? They'll all be hosting art shows during Gallery Night and Day on October 20th and 21st in Milwaukee.
Four times a year, Gallery Night and Day takes over the city, offering free admission to museums, galleries, and more sprinkled throughout different neighborhoods. This October, The Grohmann Museum will celebrate its 10th birthday at Gallery Day and Night with a special display of 30-plus paintings from the permanent collection. The Milwaukee Institution of Art and Design plans to feature works by modern illustrators such as Katherine Streeter and Frances Jetter. Meanwhile, Great Lakes Distillery intends to show off pieces by local painter Skully Gustafson. More than 40 venues will participate in Gallery Night and Day, and parking in the Historic Third Ward is only $5 in honor of the event, so don't miss it.
