Start Your Thanksgiving on a Philanthropic Note at the Milwaukee Turkey Trot 5K/8K

November 16, 2017 | wimmer

There's only one thing that might get you across the finish line of a 5K faster than the promise of Thanksgiving turkey on your dinner table, and that's a warm, ooey-gooey cinnamon roll waiting for you right across the finish line. Interested? Then take note of the Milwaukee Turkey Trot 5K/8K, slated for 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving day.

There are lots of details that make this race unique, from the athletes dressed as turkeys to the cozy hoodies runners receive in lieu of t-shirts, but the cinnamon rolls at the finish line have to be the most beloved perk of running this race. It's also a good way to give back on a day that's all about gratitude, given that the Turkey Trot benefits the Hunger Task Force, an organization that fights hunger locally. So register for your chosen course ($37+ for the 5K and $45+ for the 8K) and come to Veterans Park on Thanksgiving day to burn some calories before you feast.
